this is a new gai-tronincs emergency call telephone. model 283. you plug this into a phone line, call the number of that line, and program the phone number you want the box to call when you push the red button. you can also change other programming parameters the same way. then all a person has to do is push the button and it will automatically call the number it's been programmed to call! the person can then talk to the person that answers. great item for community parks, school gyms, or places where you want people to have means of contacting emergency personnel but may not want a phone there. nice fiberglass cabinet, easy to install, all it needs is a phone line no external power required!
